Nasruddin's Journey to England

Nasruddin had died, and an angel was conducting the usual post mortem interview. There was Nasruddin, and there was the angel, asking him all kinds of questions.
"So, Nasruddin," said the angel, "you drowned. Is that correct?"
"Yes," said Nasruddin. "That's the last thing I remember, sinking beneath the waves."
"Where did you drown exactly?"
"In the English Channel. I had traveled to France, and then I decided to make the crossing to England."
"Aha," said the angel sympathetically. "And the boat sank?"
"You mean there is a boat?" exclaimed Nasruddin. "Nobody told me anything about a boat."
