The Kingfisher and the Owl

"I challenge you to a fasting contest," Kingfisher said to Owl.
"Agreed!" said Owl. "We'll stand on a rope over the stream to watch each other and make sure we don't eat."
On the third day, Kingfisher, seeing a fish, pretended to faint. He quickly gobbled the fish in the water and flew back to the rope. "I felt dizzy," he said.
"Hunger will do that," replied the Owl.
More days passed, and the Owl grew thinner and thinner. Finally he became so weak that he fell into the water and drowned.
Kingfisher won the contest, but only by cheating.
