Monkey Has a Party

Monkey was having a party on Monkey-Island. Capybara carried anyone who couldn't swim.
Rabbit watched Capybara ferrying the guests.
"Aren't you going?" Alligator asked.
"I'm not invited," said Rabbit.
"Me neither!" said Alligator. "But I'll take you there, if you steal me some food."
"Oh, I'll steal all the food!" Rabbit promised.
Rabbit rolled in mud as camouflage, then rode on Alligator to the island. Quietly, carefully, Rabbit grabbed the tablecloth... and pulled. He pulled so hard the food flew up and landed in the river where he and Gator ate it all.
"You're not invited, Monkey!" Rabbit shouted, laughing.

Notes: This story is on p. 30: "Wedding Party." The story comes from Brazil, and Monkey is organizing the party to celebrate Jaguar's wedding.
