Anansi and the Tiger-Pit

Anansi dug a pit and covered it with leaves.
Tiger fell in!
"What are you doing down there?" Anansi shouted to him.
"I'm trapped!" Tiger yelled. "Help me!"
"Of course I'll help you," said Anansi, smiling to himself. Take this rope and tie it to your tail."
Then Anansi bent a sapling down and tied the rope. When he let go, the sapling sprang back and pulled Tiger up and out of the pit. There he was, dangling from the sapling!
Then Anansi tied Tiger's feet.
"Little Anansi caught the big Tiger," he laughed, "caught the big Tiger at last!"

  1. Haha that just shows that no matter how strong Tiger was, little clever Anansi was still able to catch him and tie him up!

  2. These stories are all horribly close to home when it comes to my weak but horribly clever brother outwitting me time and time again
