Nasruddin and the Falling Man

One day, Nasruddin was walking down the street.
He heard a scream from above, and then a man came plunging down right on top of him.
The man who fell was not injured, but Nasruddin had several broken bones and ended up in the hospital.
"What did you learn from this?" asked one of Nasruddin's disciples.
"I learned that cause and effect are not what they seem!" Nasruddin replied. "If you ask someone what will happen if a man falls off a roof, they might tell you: that man will be injured. But that man was not injured; I was!"
