Nasruddin and the Experimental Slap

One day Nasruddin noticed a man by the river, warming himself in the sun. Nasruddin reached out and slapped the man, hard, on the back of his neck.
There was a loud "smack" as Nasruddin slapped the man, and then he started yelling.
"That was just an experiment!" said Nasruddin. "Do you think the sound came from my hand when it hit your neck, or from your neck when it was hit by my hand?"
"Idiot!" shouted the man. "My pain doesn't let me think about experiments. You can ask that question only because you don't feel what I feel!"
