Jesus was walking by a cemetery. A man lived among the tombs there, possessed by demons and raving.
When the man saw Jesus, he ran to him. "Jesus, Son of God!" he shouted. "Don't torment me!"
"Who are you?" Jesus asked, speaking to the man's demons.
"My name is Legion," said the demons, "for we are many."
Jesus sent the demons into a nearby herd of swine, and the swine ran into the lake, where they drowned.
The raving man then recovered his wits.
Seeing this, the people were amazed and afraid, and they begged Jesus to leave that place.
