Jesus and his disciples were sailing across a lake. A storm arose, and waves rocked the boat.
Jesus, meanwhile, was sleeping.
His disciples woke him. "How can you sleep?" they said. "The ship is sinking!"
Jesus arose and rebuked the storm. "Be quiet!" he told the wind. "Be still!" he told the waves.
The wind ceased to blow and the sea became calm.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you have so little faith?"
Now the disciples were really afraid, wondering, "Who is this man who can command even the wind and the waves?"
