Abu Said's Disciple and the Sack of Meat

One of Abu Said's disciples was caught in the snares of ego.
"Ask the butcher to fill this sack with liver," Abu Said said, handing him a sack.
The sack tattered, dripping blood all over the disciple's clothes; he felt ashamed walking through the market where everyone could see him.
Abu Said then told him to wash up and return to the market. "Ask if anyone remembers seeing you earlier."
The disciple was amazed: no one had even noticed him.
Serving the meal that night Abu Said said, "Enjoy! Tonight's stew is made of liver, along with some leftover ego!"
