The Widow's Bangles

There was a woman who was devoted to her husband and family, and also devoted to the Lord. When her husband died, she smashed the glass bangles she had always worn and put on gold bracelets instead.
"Why are you doing this, Mother?" her children asked.
"What does this mean?" asked her friends.
"My husband's body was as fragile as the bangles of glass," she explained. "His mortal body is gone, and he is now complete and everlasting, so I have put aside those fragile ornaments to wear lasting gold that does not break and does not shatter."
