The Monkey and the Bear

Of all the animals, monkeys love their children the most. A monkey once proudly showed her baby to a bear. But the bear attacked the monkey, grabbed her baby, and ate it!
The monkey was grief-stricken and vowed to avenge her baby. She gathered sticks of wood and during the night she arranged the wood around the bear's home. She then set fire to the wood and the bear burned to death. That bear never imagined what a monkey can do!
Likewise, there are many servants wronged by their masters who have killed them or set fire to their homes.

Inspired byMille Fabulae et Una, a collection of Latin fables that I've edited, free to read online. I am not translating the Latin here; instead, I am just telling a 100-word version of the fable.
Notes: This is fable 109 in the book, which is Perry 708.
