Hunters captured a lion and put him inside a cage. The lion was pacing back and forth inside the cage, thinking if there was any way he could escape.
Meanwhile, a fox wandered by and saw the lion in the cage. "Oh, look at the mighty lion! Such a big lion in such a teeny-tiny cage!"
The fox laughed and laughed at the lion, until finally the lion growled back, "Insult me all you want; I couldn't care less about you or what you say. My only concern right now is how I'm going to get out of this cage."
Inspired by: Mille Fabulae et Una, a collection of Latin fables that I've edited, free to read online. I am not translating the Latin here; instead, I am just telling a 100-word version of the fable.
Notes: This is fable 27 in the book, which is Perry 409.
