The Brahman: What Is

A father sent his two sons to a guru to study the Brahman.
When the two boys returned, he decided to see what they had learned.
He asked the older brother, "What is the Brahman?"
The boy began to recite passages from the Vedas.
After a while, the father stopped him, and then asked the younger son, "What is the Brahman?"
The boy stood there, silent and calm.
"So, you begin to understand!" said the father. Then he turned to the older boy and said, "Learn from your brother how to go beyond; the Brahman cannot be expressed in words."
