The Cuckoo and the Nightingale

There was once a cuckoo who thought he was a fine singer, although he was actually a terrible singer, the worst of all the birds.
In his foolish boasting, the cuckoo challenged the nightingale to a singing contest. The nightingale laughed. "Who will be the judge?"
The cuckoo said the donkey would make a good judge, and the donkey was glad to help.
The nightingale sang, and then the cuckoo sang, and the donkey listened attentively to them both. "The cuckoo has won!" he proclaimed.
"It's my fault for agreeing to have a donkey be our judge," concluded the nightingale.
