The Leopard, the Goat, and the Meat

Leopard and Goat lived together as friends.
Leopard went hunting and brought home meat.
Then it was Goat's turn. He didn't hunt; instead, he bought meat at the market, along with a leopard-skin which he hid beneath his sleeping mat.
After eating the meat Goat brought home, Leopard growled. "I'm still hungry, Goat! Maybe I should take a bit out of you."
Goat just laughed and pulled out the leopard-skin. "Try it!" he shouted. "You won't be the first Leopard I've killed!"
Terrified, Leopard ran away.
Even now leopards prefer to attack she-goats; they're afraid the he-goats might kill them.

Inspired by: "The Leopard and the Goat" in African Jungle Tales by C. J. Bender, 1919. This is a story of the Kwe (Wakweli) people of Cameroon.
Notes: You can read the original story online. The original story also contains a little joke about the goat's smell being something that might terrify a leopard too.
