The Deaf Man and his Neighbor

A man who was deaf wanted to console his sick neighbor. "I can't hear him, but I can guess what he'll say: he's doing better, so-and-so is his doctor, and so on."
Feeling confident, the deaf man visited his neighbor.
"How are you feeling today?" he asked.
"I'm dying," said the neighbor.
"Thank God for that!" said the deaf man. "And who is your doctor?"
"The Angel of Death!" said the neighbor, who was getting angry.
"I'm glad to hear it!" said the deaf man.
But he had not heard anything, and his neighbor threw him out of the house.
