The Sheep who Nibbled the Hedges

A farmer complained to Zeus that sheep kept nibbling his hedges. "Help me, Zeus!" he said. "Do something about these sheep."
So Zeus commanded the sheep to restrain themselves.
When the sheep disobeyed, Zeus sent a wolf to eat the sheep who nibbled the hedges.
The farmer then complained to Zeus about the wolf killing his sheep. "Help me, Zeus!" he said. "Do something about this wolf."
Zeus got angry and commanded a hunter to kill the wolf who ate the sheep who nibbled the hedges.
The farmer decided the sheep nibbling the hedges were not so bad after all.

Inspired byMille Fabulae et Una, a collection of Latin fables that I've edited, free to read online. I am not translating the Latin here; instead, I am just telling a 100-word version of the fable.
Notes: This is fable 779 in the book, which is not in Perry; this is one of Abstemius's fables.
