Mandodari realized that her husband was besotted with the lovely Sita whom he had stolen from Rama and brought against her will to Lanka. She was used to Ravana's infidelities, but this was the first time she'd seen a woman thwart him.
"Why don't you just take on Rama's shape so that she thinks you are Rama?" Mandodari asked, for she knew her husband was a shapeshifter. "You could seduce her that way!"
Ravana stared at her in horror. "If I put on the holy form of Rama, I would never be able to commit such an act of wickedness."
