Rama and the Frog

Rama and Lakshmana prepared to bathe in Lake Pampa. They plunged their bows into the ground beside the lake and leaped into the water.
Afterwards, when they then pulled their bows out, blood dripped from the tip of Rama's bow. They scooped away the soft sand and found a frog, dying.
"O Frog, you should have croaked as you do when in danger!" said Rama sadly.
"When I'm in danger," replied the frog, "I croak 'Save me, Rama,' but I saw it was already you, and I give my life gladly to you. There was no need to cry out."
